The Frankfurt Card as your public transport ticket

The Frankfurt Card doubles as your public transport ticket: across the entire city of Frankfurt, you get unlimited travel on S-Bahn, U-Bahn, tram, bus and night bus. Regional trains within Frankfurt are covered too, and all journeys to and from Frankfurt Airport (FRA) are included - so if you are flying in, there is no separate ticket to buy for the ride into town.

The card is not valid outside the city area, or on the long-distance IC, EC and ICE trains. It covers 2nd class; a supplement is required for 1st class on the S-Bahn or regional trains.

The card is available for 1 or 2 days, either as an individual card for one person or as a group card for up to 5 people - handy if you are travelling as a family or with friends. The 1-day card is valid until public transport services end for the night, around 5am the following day. Children up to age 5 already travel free on the RMV network and do not need their own card.

Ready to use digitally, straight away

As soon as you buy it, you get a valid mobile card on your smartphone. There is nothing to print, nothing to redeem at a tourist information desk, and you do not need to validate the card - just board and go.

  1. Bus, train and tram: Carry the mobile card with you on every journey. On the bus, briefly show it to the driver when boarding; on the S-Bahn, U-Bahn and tram, there are no barriers, so you simply board.
  2. Ticket inspections: If your ticket is checked, just show the card on your smartphone. If you are using a group card, stay together, since one shared card covers the whole group.

From the airport into the city centre

Frankfurt Airport (FRA) lies within the card's coverage area, so every public transport journey there and back is included. From the airport's regional train station, S-Bahn lines heading into the city take you straight to Hauptwache and Frankfurt Central Station (Hauptbahnhof). From there, the U-Bahn, tram and bus network gets you comfortably to any destination in the city.
